Hiya! A quick post tonight to show you another – yes, another – textured polish. This time it’s by an Australian brand called Face of Australia. The name of this polish is My Island Home and it’s from the Carnivale Collection, which came out late last year. I’ve picked up My Island Home and a few other polishes from the collection on special for roughly AU$3, but otherwise it’s AU$5.95 – that is, if they’re still being sold! I notice that the Carnivale Collection is being phased out to make way for the Siren Collection in most stores.

Anywho, My Island Home is such a groovy polish, I really enjoyed wearing it. It’s a brown-leaning nude, but the textured finish makes it a bit playful. And the texture is really lovely. It’s not thick at all, but it’s definitely noticeable, as my last photo in the sun shows. I like that it’s not scratchy. What you see here is two thin coats and it still took ages to dry, so that was a big downside for me, seeing as I usually wear textured polishes when I need to do my nails in a rush.

Another problem I had with this polish is that after a while (just a day of wear) it actually gets dirty. I’m assuming this is due to the fact that it’s textured, is a light colour and has no top coat. I found the same with Sally Hansen Sugar Fix. For me, wearing it for just one day is fine but I don’t know how other people would feel about wearing dirty-looking polish. But, as an upside, I do like the new bottle Face of Australia is using for collection polishes now. The bottle reminds me of piCture pOlish bottles – in fact, I think they might just be the same! Really comfortable lid and the bottle is just so convenient for neat storage! 🙂

So, what do you think of My Island Home? I don’t usually wear nudes so this was a nice change for me. Thanks for reading!
